Hey @srowen have you tested it before and after this patch to see if it
actually fixes it? If this is a problem in master it's probably also a problem
in older branches, since the `splitCommandString` method hasn't changed that
much.
Also from the JIRA it seems that someone also ran into something similar
for 2.4.0. Does this happen only since Hadoop 2.5.0? Though IIRC I used to run
branch-1.1 successfully with 2.4.0 when I was doing the release for 1.1.1.
