Greetings again. The RSWG is discussing draft-rswg-rfc7997bis which covers
Unicode text in RFCs. Earlier editions of that draft said that it updated RFC
7332, but list traffic (thanks, Brian!) pointed out that it didn't really. I'll
remove that "updates" in the next draft of draft-rswg-rfc7997bis.
draft-rpc-rfc7322bis barely talks about Unicode (non-ASCII) text. Section 3.5
in the -03 says:
3. Citations are restricted to ASCII-only characters, as described
in "The Use of Non-ASCII Characters in RFCs" [RFC7997].
The current draft of draft-rswg-rfc7997bis removes that restriction.
Proposal: Remove the above bullet from Section 3.5. After the RSWG is finished
with draft-rswg-rfc7997bis and it is sent to the RFC Editor for publication,
draft-rpc-rfc7322bis should probably have an addition somewhere in Section 3
that points to the new document for style guidance on Unicode characters.
