I have a RHAS2.1 build system with an "everything install" on latest
updates, I have been able to compile everything except
perl-5.6.1-36.1.99ent, has anyone else had problems compiling perl?

What are you trying to build? What are you trying to build on?
Your mail suggests 2.1AS on 2.1AS ... is that correct?
