What happens when you run 'yup update'? >
Before doing "yum update" you might need to add additional RHN channels for the system. Some packages that were in the base channel in RHEL 4 seem to be in child channels in RHEL 5. For example, for RHEL 5 systems whose base is "RedHat Enterprise Linux Desktop", it's useful to add "RHEL Desktop Workstation" channel before updating. (Possibly also the "Supplementary" channel). Also, it's probably worth doing "rpm -qa | grep -i el4" to find any leftover RHEL 4 packages. These can usually be safely removed, and doing so can help avoid future confusion. -Peter Ruprecht _______________________________________________ rhelv5-list mailing list [email protected] https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/rhelv5-list
