We have some severe nfs-performance problems with our RHEL5-clients after upgrade to kernel 2.6.18-53.1.13.el5. It seems that the kernel fails to cache any nfslookups at all. Since almost all our users are developers with home- and work-directories mounted by NFS this makes this behavior quite hard to live with. Is there anyone else who stumbled upon this bug?

I found one bug which may be relevant.

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=321111

If this is correct, there isn't any available RedHat-kernel with working nfs-lookup caching and fixes to the latest local-root-exploit....

Is there any known scheduled fix for this bug?

The Bugzilla-notice mentions both a CentOS-kernel and a RedHat Test-kernel which may resolve this issue.
