so since 12.29.2008 I have been on 3 boxes with corrupt rpm databases.
Seems a bit odd to me. All 3 have been rhel5.2. One of them isn't a box I
manage (if it wasn't for that one I'd blame it on myself very quickly).

Here is what I saw from the latest one:

[r...@dodo lib]# rpm -q --whatprovides /opt/informix/etc/sm_versions.std
rpmdb: Lock table is out of available locker entries
rpmdb: Unknown locker ID: 477f
error: db4 error(22) from db->close: Invalid argument
error: cannot open Basenames index using db3 - Cannot allocate memory (12)
rpmdb: Lock table is out of available locker entries
rpmdb: Unknown locker ID: 4780
error: db4 error(22) from db->close: Invalid argument
error: cannot open Providename index using db3 - Cannot allocate memory
(12)
file /opt/informix/etc/sm_versions.std is not owned by any package

A quick clean and rebuild fixes the problem. The things tying the systems
would be:

1: All HP boxes (although not same hardware)
2: All running RHEL5.2
3: All connected to the same satellite server (but we don't push updates,
and I haven't updated the boxes I run lately)

I still have all of the broken databases in a tarball.

Anyone see anything like this or is it just happenstance?
