I'm trying to install the latest stable Sun JDK/SDK on Redhat 5.3. I've tested various machines and the problem is specific for x86_64 Intel. AMD 64 bit with the same kernel runs OK. The installation hangs like so:
# ./java_ee_sdk-5_07-linux.bin Checking available disk space... Checking Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment... Extracting Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment files... Extracting installation files... Deleting temporary files... On some machines there is also a backtrace: # ./java_ee_sdk-5_07-linux.bin Checking available disk space... Checking Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment... In both cases it hangs forever and I need to kill -9 It is not a corrupted download. I check the md5sum on transferred installer that works and those that don't work. I can make it fail on 3 x86_64 Intel machines I have with Redhat 5.3. Any ideas how to fix or further diagnose? --Donald _______________________________________________ rhelv5-list mailing list [email protected] https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/rhelv5-list
