Good point... but for me a WWN is too long to be dealing with at the
command line for all my disks - hence the "user friendly names" :)

Or set 

user_friendly_names no

in the "defaults" section of multipath.conf. Then, the devices in /dev/
mpath will have names reflecting their WWNs - plain, clear, and simple.
