It's great to see that encrypted filesystems on Linux are finally
coming to maturity.

But with RHEL5.3's support for encrypted block devices, I don't see
any explanation about how to mount the filesystem later, rather than
interrupting the bootup before networking even starts. Since it's
primarily intended as a server OS, this seriously impacts the
usability of this feature.

Is this supported at all?

It also encourages leaving encrypted filesystems mounted full-time,
which is a reasonable security model for a laptop, but often the
benefit of an encrypted filesystem on a server is realized by
unmounting it (well and removing the plaintext device) when not in
use.
