The RELEASE-NOTES-U4-en.html that comes on the RHEL 5.4 DVD and http://www.redhat.com/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/5.4/html-single/Release_Notes/ have different workarounds for the broken ipv6 dependency for the bonding driver.
Neither works. Does anything? I can raise my bonding devices by allowing ipv6 to load, and manually deleting all the automatic IPv6 addresses. None of the following are effective anymore. IPv6 autoconf runs unconditionally.
