Hello:

I am an engineer of Insyde Software Corp that doing BIOS work.

In the past few days, I tried to test SR-IOV function by using your Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 5.4 operating systems.

When I finished installing the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.4 operating
systems, and used Xen virtual-machine to install guest OS (windows xp and
vista), I found that the network controller is not the physical device in
guest OS (windows xp and vista). The network controller becomes a virtual
device (Realtek RTL8139).

Is there any step that I have to enable SR-IOV function in Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 5.4?

Here is my hardware device list:

Cpu: Xeon W5580

Network controller: IntelR Gigabit ET Dual Port Server Adapter (IntelR 82576
Gigabit Ethernet Controller suppert SR-IOV)

Virtual-machine: Xen

Guest OS: windows xp and vista

And BIOS already enable SR-IOV

Best Regards,
Peter Chiu
