I'm trying to fetch RHEL ISOs over an unreliable ISP connection using curl. I can't find the download helper web page I used to refer to, so what follows is from memory. The problem is getting downloads to resume where they left off.
After logging onto RHN and going to the ISOs channels/downloads page, I right-click on the link I want and select "Copy Link Location". Then at a command line I type: $ curl -C - -O 'paste link location here' <-- middle mouse click to paste The download starts and proceeds normally until my ISP connection fails. The problem I'm having is that the partially downloaded file will look something like this: /home/doc/RHEL5/rhel-server-5.4-x86_64-dvd.iso?__gda__=1261105782_f07833f2185ff96df99c0c08b37cccd2 with the stuff after ".iso" apparently being related to my RHN session login. When I log back in to RHN (the original session having timed out) and try to resume the transfer, it starts over at 0 because the stuff after ".iso" is different in the new session. This used to work. What am I doing wrong, or what's changed? --Doc Savage Fairview Heights, IL
