To possibly save other people the time I wasted... Fedora EPEL (http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL) provides talloc 2.
If you install the new-in-5.5 samba3x RPMs, which are necessary for compatibility with current Microsoft clients and servers, they require RHEL 5.5's build of talloc 1, which is older than EPEL's talloc 2. yum can't resolve this. I've seen references to a yum-priorities plugin. Should I install that manually (it's not available in either RHEL or EPEL) or is there a better supported way to ensure that RHEL wins over EPEL? I could run yum --disablerepo=epel on demand or disable it permanently in yum.repos.d, but neither is attractive. -- Rich Graves http://claimid.com/rcgraves Carleton.edu Sr UNIX and Security Admin CMC135: 507-222-7079 Cell: 952-292-6529 _______________________________________________ rhelv5-list mailing list [email protected] https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/rhelv5-list
