DISCLAIMER: I am *NOT* speaking on behalf of Red Hat. This will be my
only post on-list on this matter, but please feel free to contact me
off-list if you are in need of further assistance or answers.

For various reasons discussed by many officials prior, Red Hat does not
discuss unreleased products. This has been standard, Red Hat policy.

However, at Red Hat Summit in 2008 June, Red Hat officers did announce
the extension of Red Hat Enterprise Linux release 4 and 5 lifecycles.
Most specifically, this included an increase in Phase 1 of the Red Hat
Enterprise Linux lifecycle, increasing the time period new features can
be requested. Several explanations followed, including product
development times.

Red Hat customers and clients should contact their sales, solutions
architect (SA), technical account manager (TAM) or other Red Hat
representative to discuss planning.

In-a-nutshell: I do not let my customers/clients fly blind. ;)

For various reasons discussed by many officials prior, Red Hat
approaches, policies, etc... are always geared towards Service Level
Agreements (SLAs) and other considerations in Red Hat products.

However, the Fedora Project does host the Extra Packages for Enterprise
Linux (EPEL). If it ships in Fedora, and does not conflict with a base
Red Hat package, it's a candidate for EPEL.
  https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL

In-a-nutshell ... as I inform my customers/clients ...

Anything Red Hat(R) ships, it supports.
Anything Fedora(TM) can be done to meet anything else. ;)

Several times I have found a package in Fedora Koji that is not built
for Fedora's EPEL. And many times after contacting the maintainer/
packager, it was available in EPEL a short-time later.

As far as "I wish Red Hat would host," please understand that the Red
Hat(R) trademark doesn't need to be on something, for Red Hat to host,
sponsor, fund and otherwise provide much (or even all) of it.

P.S. I am a consultant. I am not in sales. I am not a sales engineer.
I am not a Red Hat-only product specialist. I follow this list, answer
questions off-list and make time for Red Hat customers/clients, on my
own time, after hours and outside my travel and billable hours. If you
are having trouble reaching or finding a Red Hat representative, please
feel free to contact myself or anyone else you trust at a redhat.com
address, or even the numbers available on Red Hat's site for many sales,
support and other individuals.

You already know Red Hat as the entity dedicated to 100%
no-IP-strings-attached, community software development.
But do you know where CIOs rate Red Hat versus other
software and services firms for their own, direct needs,
year after year? http://www.redhat.com/promo/vendor/
