I we were to go that way and try not to hurt HW vendors' feelings, we would NOT implement iSCSI target in the kernel. iSCSI impacts FC sales badly those days. Is it wrong? No, it stimulates the competition. IMHO, your point is completely wrong. +1 for DRBD.
