Red Hat Knowledgebase (KB) article DOC-5024 is a good starter:

You can create a Red Hat Network (RHN) login if you don't already have
one.  Red Hat customer service can help you locate any existing account 
number if you don't have it handy (from e-mail address, PO number,
etc...), when setting up your login with subscriptions.  If you don't
already have an existing login / account, you'll need an entitlement or
other subscription number to associate with your account so you can get
updates.  E.g., if you bought a system pre-installed with RHEL, you should
have an included registration card with that information.

Red Hat can also offer 30-day trial subscriptions which include 30-days
of access to RHN for updates, if you have not purchased a subscription or
received an entitlement.

Alternatively, there is the "portfolio edition" of Red Hat developer
subscriptions if this is for non-production, development, educational or
other "development" uses where support/service level agreements (SLAs) are
not required for $99/year.  It includes both the full platform (RHEL) and
middleware (JBoss) stack:
