While I understand the reluctance for Redhat to commit to any kind of
release date I find their refusal to provide information to the community
more and more frustrating recently. We all understand that picking a hard
date can backfire but there is no reason for Redhat to make the process so
murky. They should be keeping customers informed all the way through
development with blog postings and other information as to how things are
shaping up.

What is the bug count at? How many are serious? Is 2010 still viable?
What are their frustrations and what went well? Why has Redhat withdrawn
from the public. Now they only seem willing to send me endless emails about
big physical events. Can't they find a single person to act as an
information source for those of us who can't attend these events?

There is no good reason to be so secretive and generally emails like this
get responses about talking to your account person. That's backwards, I
shouldn't have to chase someone to get information. This is 2010 and Redhat
is built on open software and open standards, they should try turning a
flashlight on themselves and let the rest of us inside to a far bigger
degree.
