Will RHEL 5.6 or 6.1 kernel include the rps/rfs patch? Some headline features in kernel-2.6.35 include receive packet steering and receive flow steering, It seems can greatly increase the networking performance.
RPS/RFS is a smart for speeding up kernel processing; by spreading packets across CPUs such that each CPU doesn't interact (cache effects etc) with other CPUs that are processing network packets. rfs: Receive Flow Steering http://lwn.net/Articles/383935/ rps: Receive Packet Steering http://lwn.net/Articles/378617/ Regards Kirby Zhou _______________________________________________ rhelv5-list mailing list [email protected] https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/rhelv5-list
