Generally with these big new machines, the PSP lags behind not in the implementation of the SNMP agents, but in their internal counters. So on a DL585 G7, I'd check that the PSP is detecting all 12 dimms on each CPU (and not just the first 8). On a DL785 G6, check that all 8 CPU boards are detected (and not just the first 4).

HP is pretty good about updating the PSP when new hardware comes out, so I imagine that v8.6 probably supports the 585 G7 just fine.

Just a short question about RHEL6 on HP....

Has anyone of you running RHEL6 on a ProLiant DL585-G7 ?
Probably with many cores (we have 48 :-))?

W've 2 ProLiant DL785 G6 with 48 cores en 512Gb memory running on RHELS5.6
without problems (ext3 and ext4 file systems). But w're planning to install
RHELS6 so I'm interested to know if you have any debugging info regarding
the kernel panics ? Driver/firmware issue?

Cheers,
Andre

We here face the problem that both of my servers kernel panic
from time to time (appr. every 10 days...)

The 64-bit PSP RHEL 6 packages are found here:

Don,

Our stance would be to go with RedHat on bnx and hba drivers - their
updates seem to be on target. One other point of consideration when it
comes
to hba is that many vendors i.e. Emulex and EMC in our case have a
support
matrix which strictly adheres to a stock version of hba driver and
O.S.
Example, if you were to install RHEL 4.6, you must be running version
8.2.0.2
of HBA drivers.

If HP PSP upgrades the version, deviating from that matrix would
make us
non-compliant.

Something to consider..

Sure - "the SAN vendor wins" when it comes to support matrix - both
firmware and drivers. I just assumed an all-HP shop. My bad.
Question about the subject, where RHEL 4, 5 and 6 is mentioned:
Has somebody been able to download or find a HP PSP for Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 6 yet?
I've just checked the HP PSP page, but couldn't find a version
for RHEL 6

Thanks and all the best,
Simon
