Snapshots, easier management of disk space such as on-line resizing,
etc. (all the reasons you'd use LVM on a physical host).

I've always thought it was strange that Linux LVM, at least in the setup
provided by typical init scripts, scanned all devices and activated all
volumes found, rather than just the volumes requested.
