The servers have 2 quad core processors. It has two sockets and
each has 4 cpus.

and as i said , I have enabled in the Bios the HT.
Please let me know, how i will understand that HT is working...
You didn't supply the cpu model (can be seen from /proc/cpuinfo). I
believe you're using Intel 7400 series cpu's which do not have HT.
