OK...  Now...  There's a 3rd party tool that monitors the inode-nr
values.  Isn't it the "on disk" value that should be
monitored/alerted?

What might happen when the in-memory value hits 100%?  I understand
the implication(s) of inode usage on the disk, but I guess I have no
clue about how this applies to memory.
