Hi folks, As part of my audit requirement, I found pam_tally.so module will meet the requirement to log out a user account after 3 failed password attempts. BUT, the side effect is, every time I try to change an account's password I get the dreaded
"passwd: Authentication token manipulation error" message. I even took the pam_tally.so entries from system-auth file but the symptom is still there. Not a single trace of pam_tally entries in any of the files in /etc/pam.d/ directory but the problem persists. Any help is much appreciated.
