I should read the errors more carefully! rpm -ql perl | grep local contains /usr/local/share/perl5
and rpm -ql perl-libs | grep local /usr/local/lib64/perl5 Should RedHat not leave /usr/local alone? ps we have another version of perl installed from source in /usr/local. -- Iain Morrison IT Manager MRC Epidemiology Unit Institute of Metabolic Science Box 285 Addenbrooke's Hospital Hills Road Cambridge CB2 0QQ Tel 01223 769200 -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Iain Morrison Sent: 24 May 2011 10:49 To: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (Santiago) discussion mailing-list Subject: Re: [rhelv6-list] yum problems - perl We run yum -y update from a cron job but running manually in /root (which is writeable) fails as well. Eventually unmount the cdrom and cd to another directory if this is the case....
