Try checking:

/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0

and see if:

ONBOOT="yes"

if not, change it to yes and see if that helps.

Seems like I always have to do that with a fresh install.

I select the check box by "Connect Automatically" networking will start on boot, but it doesn't start!
