Well keep in mind that RH9 is pretty old these days, contains old versions of many of the libraries on which rhythmbox depends (gtk+ for example) and so you're going to run into some issues installing things just because the base packages are out of date.
If you can, I'd suggest upgrading to Fedora or Ubuntu (both of which have built-in systems for updating packages that automatically resolve dependencies), but if you're not in charge of this machine, then, uh, yeah, I feel your pain. I'm stuch with RH9 at work too :) Have fun, Peter On Sat, 26 Feb 2005 04:27:44 -0600, jeffslists <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Is it possible to install rhythmbox in less than two hours or am I > trying to do something that is impossible? :) > > I have a degree in computer science, but I don't really like system > administration much. > -- > Jeff > > http://IntelligentJukebox.com > ** Home of the most advanced, speech control jukebox in the world. > > -- > No virus found in this outgoing message. > Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. > Version: 7.0.300 / Virus Database: 266.4.0 - Release Date: 2/22/2005 > > _______________________________________________ > rhythmbox-devel mailing list > [email protected] > http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/rhythmbox-devel > _______________________________________________ rhythmbox-devel mailing list [email protected] http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/rhythmbox-devel
