Its a nice idea, but its hard enough spotting just the front cover as a file on disc, as there are so many conventions in use. For internet look up, I thing we are limited to front covers only. The idea of multiple covers is however handled nicely mp3 ID3 tags, which are designed to hold more than one cover with a "cover type", see bug 345975 for details: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=345975 The idea of how to cope with multiple covers in the GUI was discussed on the mailing list if I recall correctly, and the general feeling was that it was just too complicated - supporting a single cover would be good enough for most people.
