I have setup Rhythmbox(0.12.0 on linuxmint and 0.12.3 on archlinux) to rip cd's to CD Quality, AAC but when I then transfer these files to my ipod classic 120Gb black(recognised by gtkpod as xB565) they get reencoded to mp3. Is this really the intended behaviour and if so is there some easy way to change it? A quick google search reveals https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/164265 and https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=508537 which seems to indicate the problem was fixed a year ago... So I'm probably overlooking something obvious.
On another node is it possible to use an external hard drive as a removable media source but in such a way that the metadata is saved in a database, like an ipod? With 0.12.0 and 0.12.3 making an external harddrive a removable media source with .is_audio_player requires rhythmbox to scan the drive every time it is plugged in. However importing the external hard drive as a regular folder results in slow startup when the hard drive isn't attached, and lot's of missing file errors... Many thanks for a great music player, Adam Ehlers Nyholm Thomsen _______________________________________________ rhythmbox-devel mailing list [email protected] http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/rhythmbox-devel
