The questions about your IP addresses are good ones: you’re likely to run into 
more trouble when a Riak cluster is spread across multiple networks, and from a 
security standpoint I would recommend against exposing Riak KV to an untrusted 
network, even if its security features are enabled.

Would you please try setting pw=3 and pr=3 on your writes and reads? I would 
not be surprised to find that the objects which consistently succeed will 
report success, while the objects that consistently have trouble will report an 
error.

Decreasing those values to 2 would also be interesting: if a CRDT update 
succeeds with pw=2 and a fetch succeeds with pr=2 and the data is still stale, 
that would be of particular concern.

And it should not matter for this use case, but please check to see whether all 
your server clocks are synchronized.
