I tried
/examples/core-demo/tags/richfaces-core-demo-4.0.0.Alpha2/src/main/webapp/ajax.xhtml
. Inside this page, there is a sample testing good working of byPassUpdates.
And it's working well. Do you have more information about this problem ?
