Ricky’s Quickies – Kelo Vs New London

I saw a neat feature on FOX-TV about Kelo vs New London that I had never seen
before. Don’t know why now, but Susette Kelo was a guest on one of their news
programs. I was surprised to see Kelo was a simple homeowner. (Kelo didn’t
sound like a last name to me.) Prim and proper probably in her middle 50’s. No
husband present. I was surprised to hear the confiscation case spent 10 years
in the courts.  They showed her spiffy pink house as it is today. It had been
moved out of the construction zone. She doesn’t live there; it was unclear if
anyone does.

Even some things I thought I knew were true, weren’t. I thought it was one
hard-headed person’s land being taken. Nope. 78 homes of which 7 resisted to
the end. I thought the property was taken to build a mall. Nope. Wrong again.
Pfizer wanted to expand.

One final piece of irony. The land fought for, so hard, so long consuming so
much time, money and making a mockery of the Bill of Rights, now stands vacant.
Not leveled for future use; just a giant weed patch that the owner, whether it
be the City of New London or Pfizer, should pay to clean up. Now.

I submit this as more evidence that the Constitution has become irrelevant,
even in the hallowed halls of the Supreme Court.  We shouldn’t have been
surprised by Barack’s eligibility “no standing” decisions.

Also, plz note the difference between the above and the news coverage you
saw/heard/read at the time it was happening.

I LOVE MY COUNTRY                            I HATE MY GOVT

Personally, I think this debate is purely academic because Congress will not
perform their duty under the Constitution.
But we can't go to the next step until we exhaust every Constitutional
solution. After that, we look at our God given rights contained in our
Declaration of Independence.

"The Congress…on the application of the legislatures of two-thirds of the
several states, shall call a convention for proposing amendments…" Article V,
USCON

At the same time, academic exercises like this can serve secondary purposes.
Just like last month we learned that a man could become president without
proving he meets the minimum Constitutional standards to become president, we
now know as a matter of fact, the Congress can also legally ignore the
Constitution.

"No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States ,
all be eligible to the office of President..."
Article 2, Section 4, USCON

The govt has trampled our precious constitution to death and has  breached the
contract with We the People that authorizes its very existence. By their own
actions, or inactions, they have become a defacto outlaw govt. They have no
standing!

It’s time we demand our state legislatures to form a new and less imperfect
nation.
