Howdy all, a few Interesting Items for your information. Enjoy -
In this issue:
1.  9-11
2.  You Lie
3.  ACORN
4.  Termites
5.  Word Count

1.  9-11.  We sat thru the rebroadcast of the 9-11 attacks Friday evening.  The
longest was on MSNBC.  FNC put it all together in an hour long program later on
in the evening.  Neither program captured the sense of growing panic from the
media as the fourth hijacked aircraft turned toward Washington DC .  Most of
the online commentary was personal in nature, describing feelings about this
and that.  There were a number of warnings that the threat is still out there –
which it is.  And that we can expect another attack because of the things that
Our Political Masters in DC have chosen not to do.  What did the 9-11 attacks
do to me?  I suppose the best description would be cold, focused fury at the
vermin that attacked us in such a cowardly manner, and that fury extends to all
who believe as they do and celebrate their successes.  They, their supporters
and cheerleaders have opted out of the gene pool forever.  I rather like the
Schwartzkopf
quotation:  "I believe that forgiving them [the terrorists of 9/11] is God's
function. Our job is to arrange the meeting."  If we have to kill them all, I
am good with that and will do my part.  Radical Islam (perhaps even
conventional Islam, according to some) is a perversion that rewards hatred,
anger, death, lying, slavery and brutality.  As such, it will be removed as an
acceptable way for people to behave.  Afterwards, nobody will remember them,
mourn their loss, or remember anything about them other than the evil of their
actions and rationalizations.  And we will proceed on to the next event,
whatever it may be.  This war is not yet over.  It will be.

2.  You Lie.  President Obama gave a health care speech to a joint session of
congress Wednesday night.  The speech was precisely the sort of in your face,
unapologetic pack of lies that you would expect from this president.  Rep.
Shimkus (R, IL) walked out near the end of the speech.  A few minutes later,
when Obama denied the legislation would cover illegals, Rep. Joe Wilson (R, SC)
couldn’t stand it any more and yelled out “You lie!”  He was immediately
castigated by the State Run Media, leftists everywhere for committing truth in
public.  They all moved smartly into their “decorum” argument, accusing Wilson
of acting boorishly and defiling the ambiance of the joint session.  What a
hoot.  Defiling this congress?  You would have to unload the contents of a
thousand weeks-full stinking outhouses into the capital just to clean it up
enough so its ambiance could possibly be defiled.  The problem with Wilson is
that he committed Truth
in public, not unlike what Palin did with her “death panel” description.  For
his part, Wilson called the WH afterwards and apologized for breaking the
decorum of congress.  He pointedly did not apologize for calling Obama a liar
in public.  The Sorosphere responded by opening their checkbooks and Wilson ’s
democrat opponent in 2010 raised an instant $750,000 in campaign donations.
When word of that got out to the talk shows and online community, WIson’s
campaign donations picked up nicely also, with over a million dollars reported
raised by the weekend.  I have not verified either dollar amount.  Foolish
House Republican leadership (redundant?) also started making noises about
forcing Wilson to apologize to the House on the floor of the House Chamber
sometime this week.  They were castigated as the gutless, spineless, Beltway
insiders they have become.  When you tell the truth, there is no reason to
apologize.  Should the democrat
majority in the House of Representatives want to have this discussion in
public, bring it on.  The final piece of this story took place at week’s end,
as the senate removed portions of the health care legislation that prohibited
enforcement of citizenship requirements.  The legislation never specifically
covered illegals.  It simply did not allow any health care provider to check
whether any patient was a citizen.  Until late last week, democrats in both
houses of congress consistently rejected every single Republican attempt to
create an enforcement mechanism.  Perhaps this is why the number of uninsured
in Obama’s Wednesday speech changed from the mythical 47 million uninsured to a
mere 30 million uninsured.

3.  ACORN.  ACORN is a government funded, government sponsored criminal
enterprise.  In yet another demonstration of independent reporters doing the
job the State Sponsored Media today refuses to do, an independent filmmaker did
the old 60 Minutes hidden camera routine with not one, not two but three
different ACORN offices in Baltimore, Washington DC and NY.  The filmmaker and
a 20 year old assistant posed as a prostitute and her pimp.  They were seeking
and getting legal advice how to adopt underage young girls from South America ,
essentially getting legal advice on tax evasion in setting up a prostitution
ring involving young girls.  They got their legal advice from the ACORN
employees – your (and my) – tax dollars at work.  Andrew Breitbart broke the
story by posting the videos on his web site.  He rolled them out over a series
of days.  After the Baltimore video hit, the media reaction was that it wasn’t
an aberration.  So he rolled
out the DC video.  Once the excuses started for the DC video, he then rolled
out the NY video over the weekend.  FNC picked up the story late in the week.
ACORN fired a pair of employees from their Baltimore office in response.  And
the Census announced they were not going to be using ACORN to take census data
by week’s end.  All in all, not a great week for the organization that the
President used to work for.  ACORN still stands to receive over $8 billion in
stimulus and other federal monies.  It is not too late to turn their money off
and go after them all with a RICO investigation.

4.  Termites.  Joseph Smith writing in The American Thinker Thursday wrote an
article entitled “Green Termites” about the WildEarth Guardians, filing a pair
of petitions over the space of a month that would force listing of 681 species
as endangered under the Endangered Species Act.  The petitions were filed in
the summer of 2007 and could lead to a judicially ordered shutdown of all
development in the western US.  Note what has happened in central California
over the last few years with the listing of a single species – the delta smelt
– as endangered.  Judicially ordered protection has shut down agriculture in
one of the most productive regions of the nation, as water normally used for
irrigation is now impounded for the fish.  Unemployment in parts of that area
is over 40%.  This is a single species.  Imagine the damage that can be done
with the listing of nearly 700 new endangered species by a very green-friendly
democrat
administration, congress and their judicial appointees.  Clearly, this is yet
another example of the Cloward – Piven strategy; which overwhelms government
bureaucracy with entitlement demands.  Essentially Cloward – Piven files
requests, demands, legal paperwork, in such a large volume that the entire
system collapses under its own weight.  The greens ought to be careful with
this game, as the more outrageous they get with their bureaucratic games, the
closer we come to a day when the Endangered Species Act will be repealed,
revised or rewritten so that those that physically increase the individual
numbers of each endangered species are paid for their trouble – which will put
Big Green and their lawyers out of business.

5.  Word Count.  Ed Morrissey in Hot Air ran Obama’s speech to the kiddies
Monday through a word count analysis and came up with the following results:
56 iterations of “I”
19 iterations of “school”
10 iterations of “education”
8 iterations of “responsibility”
7 iterations of “country”
5 iterations each of “parents”, “teachers”
3 iterations of “nation”
Essentially, Obama used the word “I” one less time in the speech to the kiddies
than all the times he used the words “school, education, responsibility,
country, parents, teachers and nation.”  Commander in Chief?  Perhaps.
Narcissist in Chief?  Very likely, and he demonstrates it every single time he
opens his mouth.

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better
than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not
your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your
chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our
countrymen."
- Samuel Adams, speech at the Philadelphia
  State House, August 1, 1776.
