"The number of emails containing hoaxes, half truths and outright lies never
ends. For years and quite frankly, I'm sick of it. When I let the sender know
the information is false, nine times out of ten the response I get is this: "I
don't have time to research all this stuff" or "My friend who knows a lot sent
it to me and I trust him". One female even got angry with me and said I was
mean for sending proof the email she sent was a lie!

"What if I put things in my columns without researching them for accuracy? My
credibility would be in the toilet. Now, it's mean to politely point out
information a person is sending out isn't true and it makes them look bad?
Almost every one of those emails with the twenty exclamation marks has an email
paper trail. The first person sends it to ten. Those ten send it to fifty.
Those fifty send it to another fifty. I've seen some with a hundred email
addresses the hoax or lie has been sent to. By the end of the week you have
thousands of people chasing their behinds following up by writing letters or
telling more people something that isn't true.

"Below are persistent hoaxes, disinformation and outright lies. Perhaps we
might make a dent by putting them together in one place and getting the truth
out there."
