Tampa, FL—Christine O’Donnell, a former Republican U.S. Senate candidate, will
headline a groundbreaking new film festival at the Republican National
Convention in Tampa. Organized with the help of young patriots from all walks
of life, the festival is designed to empower young voters to take control of
their future by refusing to send President Obama back to the White House for a
second term.
This five-day event will also host the first-ever National Tea Party vs. Occupy
Movement debate. Moderated by television personality Chuck Woolery of Wheel of
Fortune and Love Connection fame, the debate will serve as the opening session
for Troublemaker Fest, and will take place Monday, August 27.
In the 2008 election, President Barack Obama resoundingly carried the youth
vote, but the tide is turning. New results from pollster John Zogby show that
Mitt Romney is quickly gaining ground with the 18-29 demographic.
Youth voters now make up 24% of the American electorate, and the unemployment
rate among those ages 20 to 24 now stands at a whopping 14% (well above the 9%
national average). As Zogby, himself put it: “This could be trouble for Obama
who needs every youth voter he can get.”
Channeling this energy, O’Donnell, with the help of young people from across
the country, is launching this groundbreaking new event, which will show films
such as 2016: Obama’s America, Doonby, Expelled, Last Ounce of Courage, among
many others. The film festival has garnered incredible support and enthusiasm
among young people and could have a significant impact on the upcoming election.
The film festival will occur August 26-30 at the Channelside Cinemas 10 IMAX
Theater in Tampa, Florida one block away from the 2012 Republican National
Convention.
