Hi Beth,

If I want to go anywhere to ride I have to watch for ticks.  This is already a pretty bad tick year. They always hide in the tail and mane, and my gelding always has them hiding around his private parts.  I haven't found a spray yet that will keep them off, though the lady at my vet office recommends Top Spot spray for dogs, I'm afraid to try it.  Oh, and horses CAN take benedryl.  I buy the generic brand at Longs, and give 10 pills at a time(by weight).  Was recommended when one of my horses had hives that wouldn't respond to anything the vet gave, and it worked great.

Oh, and have someone check your head, those little buggers can hide on your head even after you scrub and scrub, and then they appear during a dinner party with your husbands boss or some other fun time.

Judy
