The "guy" problem was more of a feeling of no room for error, rather than a problem. I could tell where to sit, and felt I was starting to find a new balance. But on a sharp curve, on a high posting trot and the horse shied away from something, I found myself "right there". Today however, storm clouds and wind were starting to build as we were riding and he was shying quite a bit and I didn't make contact at all, so perhaps it was just the novelty of the saddle yesterday, and I just need to spend some time in it.
With my previous saddle, there was no option for sitting the trot - I had to post the entire ride, and it was a big post (very fatiguing). With this saddle (and english saddles in general) I believe I might be able to "smooth" his trot down to the point where I CAN sit it...after the first loop, that is... :-) Mike -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Sunday, March 24, 2002 1:32 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [RC] Wintec with Cair <snip> My husband doesn't have any of the 'guy' problems you're having, so maybe it's the way you're riding? When I do 50 miles, I find that my horses back does the best when I sit the trot for a good portion of the time. That way I can follow his movement more closely and influence him with less interference. The cair panels have made it much easier to accomplish this. And, the 9 pounds and ease of cleaning is just a big plus!! =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
