Yes, any horse can be a kicker. In 1981, my
endurance horse, that I had raised and loved desperately, was kicked at the
start of a ride in PA. We were milling around at the start and a horse
came up, kicked and skittered off. My horse had a 4 inch slab fracture of
the tibia just above the hock. I had it screwed back together and he was
comfortable for a few more years. The horse who kicked him went on to do
many more rides and NEVER kicked again. Go figure.
