Thanks for the responses I have found a lot of very good information.
No I can't obtain the amorphous phase pure, but I do know the chemical
compostion and could probably make a good estimation on the density of the
glass.

Can you obtain that "unknown amorphous phase" pure ?
What do you mean by unknown, the chemical composition
is also unknown, or do you just lack for a sructure model ?
