Dear Rietvelders, I have a question, particularly to experts in magnetic structure refinements. When does one need to refine anisotropic thermal factors for the magnetic moments? We have a set of data, on which we work hard to extract physically meaningful magnetic structures. The intensities suggest that we need to use anisotropic thermal factors for the magnetic moments, which the FullProf program allows. It is however difficult to get a clear picture what it should mean physically. Any comments will be appreciated.
