Hi,

>Screen Sharing.

Yes. It is possible to share part or the entire screen during a video call.

>Group video chat. No one really has this besides Google Hangouts.

Yes, although currently it works slightly differently due to the distributed
nature of Ring. The workflow for this is slightly different in the Windows and
OSX version compared to the Gnome version currently, but basically you can
create a video conference by making several calls and then joining them
together. However, since Ring is distributed, if the person who created the
conference ends the call, then conference no longer exists for the other
participants.

>Group chat. This one should be easy, but I thought I would ask.

Yes and no. There is currently group chat if you are in a conference call,
though there are some bugs/limitations currently that we're still working on.
However, there isn't currently a way to make a group chat without a call.

>Provisions for a contact directory or LDAP for a company setting.

Each version (Gnome, KDE, OSX, Windows, Android) uses the native contact
system. In the case of Gnome, for example, this is done via the Evolution Data
Server apis which give access to the gnome/unity online accounts and the local
contacts (basically the same contacts you would access via Gnome Contacts).
Thus you should have access to whatever types of contacts the native system has
access to... I'm not sure which of these do or do not support things like LDAP.
From a quick search, it seems that it should be possible to get the Evolution
Data Server to work with LDAP, but I don't think this has been tested in Ring.

Objet: A couple questions about Ring

Hello!

I'm trying to find a replacement for Skype, and I was wondering if
Ring has a couple of features Skype does.

Features I'm looking for:
* Screen Sharing.
* Group video chat. No one really has this besides Google Hangouts.
* Group chat. This one should be easy, but I thought I would ask.
* Provisions for a contact directory or LDAP for a company setting.
