Hi, I have been experimenting with Ring's DHT to gain a rough idea of Ring adoption, in terms of countries and autonomous systems. Data is obtained from a few runs of dhtscanner, then AS and country are queried from cymru, and the aggregated results (number of unique IP addresses by country and AS) are shown in tables below.
If there is some interest in this kind of reports, they can certainly be
improved (e.g. using week-long aggregates) and I can publish the script.
About the report itself below: I really like the fact that users of Ring
are quite diverse! This is possibly because of last FOSDEM :)
Also, there is a surprisingly large amount of IPv6-capable users, which is
great.
