I've used AudioGrabber for ripping my CDs in the past. Back when AudioGrabber wasn't free. It is now freeware, and does an excellent job. However, I was ripping to mp3. Not sure if it handles flac, but it might with a plugin.
I think dbPowerAmp will do ripping directly to flac for you, and give you your tags. I would follow the suggestions of the geeks and go with the FLAC format over any other lossless format. FLAC is opensource, and it has it's own movement behind it. WMA is just Microsoft. Too many uncontrolled variables with MS, in whether they will change anything, etc. WMP is definitely a good player. I've tried the geek players (FooBar etc), and I use WinAmp mostly, but the latest WMP seems to handle large libraries really well. Just stick with a 'standard' format for the files. FLAC definitely for Lossless. MP3 for lossy.320k (my personal opinion, only based on player compatibility - plays on ALL players) Brian -- JustaBum _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
