Yeah, it takes a bit of work to play WMA from a Linux installation. You might be able to get Infrant to include up the necessary software and make the config changes in their next release of SlimServer for the ReadyNAS, but I don't know if you can count on it. So yes, your best bet is to just go ahead and transcode the whole collection.

It'll be interesting to see what Infrant does with subsequent releases of SlimServer. Right now all you get is a very generic sort of installation, with no ability to load plugins. I don't even think they included all of the skins, for some unexplained reason.
