Okay, this is my first post and I should note that I am am definitely not a programer and have a limited vocabulary for this stuff, but here is my issue:
1. I upload songs from a CD or from mp3s on my desktop into iTunes (I use an iMac with the Panther OS), with iTunes set to encode the songs as MP3s (rather than AAC) and at 192 bit rate. 2. The songs show up in iTunes and are numbered correctly (i.e., song # 1, 2, 3, etc.). 3. When I later try to play the album on the Slimserver/Squeezebox, the album and all the songs on it show up, but only a couple of the songs from the album will actually play. 4. I finally noticed that the song information in Slimserver indicates that only those songs that have song numbers (e.g., track 11, etc.) will play. The songs that don't play don't have song numbers displayed. As I noted above, however, the song numbers are assigned to the songs in iTunes and the songs are listed in correct order in the Slimserver, it is just that some don't have specific song numbers. I do not have any idea how many songs this affects, but I have over 15,000 songs loaded, so if this is going to involve manually fixing each affected track, I may just start crying uncontrollably and I would like to avoid that if possible. So, does anyone have any thoughts on what is going on? Any fixes available that are easy to implement and that can be done without going through every song in my collection to see if each individual song is effected? Any help would be greatly appreciated. -- Minor Threat _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
