So far, I have made my Squeezebox mp3 collection by ripping all of my CD's, and buying new CD's just to rip.
I have always been wary of buying mp3's online, due to the conflicting and different types of encryption. Will they work on my squeezebox? Will they work on future portable devices? etc. Should I buy from iTunes, or should I buy from other sources? Do I still need to convert them once I buy them, or is it as simple as throwing them in my music folder and forget? Can I move them to other devices easily, including backing up? What services have you had success with? What should I avoid?
