You can defeat the whole DRM thing with a piece of tape on the outer 1/2 inch of the disc. That blocks the data portion and the reader just skips to the music tracks.
I really think there should be flashing red warning lights on any disc that is not a redbook CD, saying THIS DISC IS DESIGNED TO KEEP YOU FROM LISTENING TO THE MUSIC YOU BOUGHT AND IS NOT A COMPACT DISC BUT SOMETHING DREAMED UP BY OUR LEGAL DEPARTMENT. BUYER BEWARE!
