I'd spent another couple of hours looking at this issue. Slimserver thinks that LAME is installed OK, I read two other threads with the same issue, but they seem to be having problems installing LAME. I took the advice of on thread and switched on d_source in debug, but I can't say the output gives me much idea, I have pasted some of it below.
Can anybody tell me if they are able to play m4a (aac) files via Slimserver installed on an Windows XP system? I've tried this with XP Pro and XP MCE, with the same result. It works on Win 2K (advance server) every time. I ordered a new Squeezebox, so I hope this problem will go away, but I still want to keep a couple of my old Squeezeboxes or SLIMP3's.
