You know what I've always wondered about CD ripping services? Let's say you offered the service, and you did a good amount of business... Wouldn't you store every single CD you ripped (assuming an unscratched CD and 100% confidence in the copy) in a vast storage system in some lossless format? Then just use some method to identify the disc you're sent (once again, with 100% certainty) and then use the copy you have on file, transcoding it into the customer's desired format.
