Any player that tunes in to http://<your_slimserver_ip_here>:9000/stream.mp3 just needs to handle that stream. This is standard TCP/IP streaming and has nothing to do with the protocol the slimserver/squeezebox use. There are people on this forum who successfully stream to their nokias and winamps.
