Microsoft does not like FLAC and will not natively 
support it.

You have to use 3rd party tools to get Windows 
Media Player to use it.  Someone mentioned 
something about the Directshow Filter:

If you can get it to work with Windows XP, it will 
probably work with Windows Media Center.  I don't 
know anything about Windows Media Center, but I'm 
sure it uses Windows Media Player.

Since it will be a cold day in Hell when I attach 
a full-fledged PC (replete with its noisy fans, 
noisy hard drives, mouse, BIOS and errors) to my 
home theatre system, I'd vote for another 
Squeezebox and Tivo, but that's just me.
